STPM

All below requirements must be fulfilled:

University Requirement

  • A pass in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM)/ equivalent
    qualification with honours in Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia or honours in
    Bahasa Melayu/ Bahasa Malaysia Paper July.
  • A pass the Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum
    of CGPA 2.50

Programme Requirement

  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C of the following subjects at STPM
    Level:
    • Biology/Chemistry/Physics/Mathematics/Additional
      Mathematics/Economics/Business Studies/Accounting
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C in ONE (1) subject EXCLUDING Pengajian
    Am at STPM Level 
  • Obtain a minimum Grade C of the following subjects at SPM level:
    • Biology/Chemistry/Principle of Account/Commerce/Basic Economics
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C in TWO (2) subjects EXCLUDING Bahasa
    Melayu
  • A minimum score of Band 2 in MUET.

MATRICULATION / FUNDAMENTAL CATEGORY

All below requirements must be fulfilled:

  • Obtain a minimum Grade C of the following subjects at SPM level:
    • Biology/Chemistry/Principle of Account/Commerce/Basic Economics 
  • Obtain a minimum of Grade C in TWO (2) subjects EXCLUDING Bahasa Melayu
  • A minimum score of Band 2 in MUET

DIPLOMA AND EQUIVALENT CATEGORY

 All below requirements must be fulfilled:

 All below requirements must be fulfilled:

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Senior High School/ Senior Secondary School/ Other Certifications from government schools (with the period of at least 11 or 12 years of study from primary to higher secondary);

OR

  • Pass General Certificate of Education (GCE)/ A-Level;

OR

  • Diploma in related field;

OR

  • Any other Certificate that is recognized and approved by the Senate of the University

AND

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL IBT) score of 45;

OR

  • Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Band 3.

AND 

FACULTY REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least Grade B (CGPA 3.0) in GCE (A-Level)/equivalent 

AND

  • At least Grade B (GPA 3.0) for Biology/Chemistry/Science 

AND

  • At least Grade B (GPA 3.0) in GCE (A-Level)/equivalent for Mathematics/Fundamentals of Economics/Accounting

AND

  • Candidate is not colour blind, physical or speech handicapped.

Bachelor of Agricultural Biotechnology is the best preparation for the carrier in agricultural and biotechnology fields. This course provides the students with the basic knowledge and advanced production of agricultural products and biotechnology through various university courses. The first year of study, students will be exposed to microbiology, analytical organic chemistry, biochemistry, agriculture botany, crop science, agricultural economics, fundamental genetics and soil science. In second and third years including the biostatistics, crop protection, cell and molecular biology, principles of animal cell and tissue culture, plant physiology, agricultural entrepreneurship, plant in vitro technology, farm mechanization, plant breeding, bioinformatics, agricultural extension and plant signalling physiology. During the fourth year, the student will carry out the project in the end, the unfolding investigation seminar, plant genetic engineering, precision farming, irrigation systems, agricultural marketing, aquaculture, weed science and plant genetic resources.
